How Your Blog Is Not Helping Your Content Marketing

content marketing blogIn content marketing, every communication channel counts, and your blog is one of the causes of concern, especially if you are a one-man show running it. A company blog is an appendage to the website, meaning that you should not let it wither away. Here are a few ideas to help you rethink your blogging strategy:

One important aspect in content marketing definition is consistency. Consistent communication is efficient communication. Your blog must have a clear schedule of posting. You do not write in it when you have just had a cool idea. Every day you must post something, even a photo with a caption. But do not let your blog look as if it is something you deal with when you remember or have some extra spare time.

Are you too busy running your business? It is understandable, so get other people involved in blogging. Collaboration goes hand in hand with communication and any great content strategy involves more than one person posting on the blog. Different voices, different ideas and approaches create variety. As any specialized communicator can tell you, variety of information is the key to great content marketing.

Some good content marketing examples can be found in online forums, where people ask questions about various problems and get answers from specialists. You should encourage your blog visitors to ask you questions and offer prompt and accurate answers.

Confidence and trust are won by offering  a helping hand every once in a while and not asking for anything in return (so do not condition answering questions by requests to get a Like on Facebook).

Revamp graphics periodically. Take the time to add a special banner for holidays, work around the sections and rearrange them to make the blog more user friendly. In content marketing, everything gets noticed: the good things, the bad things and the things you should do but you did not.
