The minimalist approach is slowly making its way into content marketing as well. Consumers would rather read a short piece that presents the essence of what you want to tell them than read a long post in which the essence is diluted in a thousand words.

Simplicity and concision are two highly appreciated features, but they are hard to acquire. You need to put in a great deal of time and effort to come up with a piece of content creation that tells a lot in a few paragraphs.

So, if you want to keep it simple, here are several steps that you can try to follow on your next content marketing blog post:

  • Use simple words – content marketing is not done with pretentious words. Use short, powerful words; they usually have a stronger impact on the reader.
  • Write simple stories – with the simple words create simple, memorable stories; complicated stories rarely stay with the reader.
  • Employ a simple structure – your post should be easy to follow, so make use of bullet lists and subheadings to highlight the key points.
  • Keep it short – this does not only apply to the length of the article, but also to that of the sentences and paragraphs. Write short sentences and do not use more than 4 in one paragraph, so that the text be easier to scan and skim.
  • Simple titles – a successful content strategy is about captivating the readers and keeping them interested; a compelling headline is a great incentive for both new and old customers. Keep in mind optimizing the title for the search engines as well.
  • Meaningful pictures – use simple, iconic images to add more value to your post; include a picture people will remember, because content marketing is making a lasting impression on the reader.
